Alterations

Alteration credits are available within 30 days of receiving your custom made product.  Black Lapel offers up to $75 in alterations credit per custom suit and $50 in alterations credit for all other custom made items.  Please bring the Black Lapel Alterations Form to your local tailor and have him/her note the adjustments.

Remember to keep your receipt as you will need to upload a photo or scan of the receipt to qualify for the alterations credit.  Please also remember to make changes to your measurements profile so we can perfect your fit on future orders. Once you have your alterations form and receipt ready, please log in and visit this page again to upload them via your browser.

Remember, we’re here to help!  If you need a Second Opinion in terms of fit, we’d be more than happy to give you an honest opinion because we benefit too when you look your very best.  Feel free to send photos of yourself in your fresh Black Lapel threads to concierge@blacklapel.com at any time if you need some help deciding on a particular fit issue.  We will never use, share or post any of these photos without your full, prior consent.

Remakes

Full remakes are available within 30 days of receiving your custom made product.  Please bring your item to a local tailor to see if alterations are possible.  If the tailor deems a product unalterable, have him note the reason on the alterations form.

For best results, e-mail concierge@blacklapel.com a copy of your alterations form and send along photos that our stylists can review. 

Photos are best taken 6 feet away, at chest height, with your arms comfortably at your sides. Please send along a front, back, and side photo, plus close-ups of any problem areas you'd like us to review.

After you contact the concierge, you will be directed to send the unworn and undamaged original item back to us within 30 days of the approved remake application so that we can properly credit you for the return. Original items that are kept for more than 30 days from the date of an approved remake will result in a charge for the remade items at their full retail price.  We recommend using a shipping service that allows for tracking and delivery confirmation.  Please include the original packing slip or a copy of the original order email confirmation along with your package.  For international returns, please declare the contents as "returned clothing" with a declared value of $1 USD to avoid being assessed any customs duties.
